Assistant Technical Manager

Job Description:

• Technical Lead/Manager for Comms System/IT maintenance and support for various CAAS VSAT systems. Providing technical solutioning and participation in tender.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot VSAT/VHF/Voice communication system faults and symptoms with OEM software and test equipment (Spectrum Analyser, Power Meter, etc)
• Interpret troubleshooting results to determine best course of action to restore VSAT system and resolve technical hardware and software related issues
• Installation new VSAT equipment and upgrade communication/network equipment (Multiplexer, ADC, Kilomux, Routers, Switches, SNMP devices etc)
• Perform works on Krone box connectivity from VSAT VHF, PTT connections lines (4W E&M) out from AB switch and Multiplexers.
• Conduct VSAT training to maintenance team, analyse existing operations and scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements
• Perform scheduled maintenance for VSAT system
• Implement approved patches/releases deployment accordingly to Change Request
• Maintain network and system security included cybersecurity advisories
• Perform installation and configuration of systems and application software
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments of VSAT, Comms and IT systems
• Managing software and hardware installations and upgrades.
• Overseas travelling for project deployment.

Duration

• 1 year contract

Salary: 

• up to $6,000

Working Hours:

• Mon to Fri: 8:30 am to 6 pm

• Changi

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Electronics/IT field, with strong background in VSAT, VHF Comms System maintenance and support for IT related systems
• Degree/Diploma Holder
• Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting switched and routed networks
• Knowledge on VSAT equipment (BUC, LNB, Satellite Modem, etc) and Comms Equipment (VHF radio, Multiplexer, AB switch, etc) will be preferred
• Knowledge of basic Linux commands will be preferred
• Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have some domains in Air Traffic Control (ATC) or Air Traffic Management (ATM)
