Assistant Lab Officer

Job Responsibilities

• Unpack and disassemble dirty cages
• Scrape soiled bedding from the cages
• Soak and wash cages (mice, rats, guinea pigs)
• Pack washed items according to cages, lids and wire mesh
• Send packed items to cage wash
• Dispose of bags of soiled bedding by the loading bay
• Wash and disinfect area with disinfectant after use
• Transport loads of dirty and clean cages between dirty area, cage wash and sterile prep
• Launder dirty cloth covers, surgical drapes and other washable materials
• Load and unload items into cage wash machine
• Operate cage wash machine
• Record daily runs of the machine and report any incidence of malfunction
• Daily assembly of cages
• Ensure enough cages and corncob
• Proper storage of unused cage items
• Run machines e.g. autoclaves
• Fill up water bottles

Period

• 6 months contract

Salary

• $1,300 to $1,600

Working Hours

• 5 day work

Location

• Near Buona Vista MRT

Job Requirements

• O level / ITE qualifications
• Relevant working experiences in laboratory is preferred
