R&D Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, develop and manage electrical hardware design projects according to the development process to meet the project requirements, goals and objective
• Support necessary function tests and software interface-level related module tests
• Involve in the assembly and testing of first article. Work very closely with Module test and System Integration and Test to qualify design and implementation to ensure upmost quality standards
• Work closely with R&D HQ, Purchasing, Production and manage 3rd party vendors to meet project requirement, goals and objectives
• Participate in cross functional team for ad-hoc or projects
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the development process and initiate engineering change process in accordance to company’s process flow
• Evaluate and selection of components, optimize fabrication and minimize cost of products
• Developing new ideas and new technology to improve our products and add value to our customers
• Continuous improvement of development process

Salary:

• Up to $5k 

Working Hours: 

• Monday – Friday: 8.30am to 6pm

Requirements:

Education Requirements:

• Degree/Master/PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Control Engineering or related discipline

Other Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in PCB system-level design of analogue and digital electronics
• Competent in embedded system design, micro-processor architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Competent in digital electronics such as, DSP, FPGA/CPLD, Microcontrollers and Flash, and analog electronics for processing analog signals, including OP Amps, A/Ds, and DACs, power electronics such as, AC/DC converters, motor drivers, linear motor, BLDC/Synchronous motor and stepper motor, etc.
• Knowledge in various communication bus. E.g. SPI, I2C, RS232, CAN-Bus, Ethernet
• Knowledge in Automation, Machine Design and Machinery safety standard
• Design knowledge in transformer and power converter and experiences in power sizing, technical calculation, circuit simulation, prototyping and testing
• Experience in sensor and actuator engineering
• Experience in cable sizing, power distribution and protection
• Experience in Circuit design and simulation tool such as OrCAD or LT Spice
• Experience in EMC testing and troubleshooting
• Experience in EPLAN and PCB design tool such as PADs
• Sound knowledge of SMT placement machines and manufacturing process of an electronic assembly in a SMT line
