Job Responsibilities:
This role involves creating mathematical formulas and models to address business challenges and drive operational efficiency. The Data Scientist will apply advanced mathematical techniques to develop solutions that enhance decision-making and optimize various business functions.
Project Function : Data Management/ Analytics, Information Technology
Responsibilities Include:
- Design and develop advanced mathematical, simulation, and optimization models and apply them to define strategic and tactical needs and drive appropriate business and technical solutions in the areas of price, fuel, network flow, supply chain optimization, and demand planning.
- Apply mathematical optimization techniques (linear, quadratic, SOCP, robust, stochastic, dynamic, mixed-integer programming, network flows, nonlinear, nonconvex programming) and algorithms to design optimal or near optimal solution methodologies to be used by in-house decision support tools and software
- Research, prototype and experiment with these models by using modeling languages such as Python; participate in the production level deployment
The candidate should have the expertise/experience of:
- Experience in building optimization models and implementing them
- Expertise in validating and simulating math optimization model
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale optimization systems in a production environment
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex problems, develop mathematical models, and interpret results.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Solid understanding of optimization techniques, linear programming, integer programming, and other mathematical methods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on finding effective and efficient solutions to business challenges.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in developing and validating models and solutions.
- Experience: Capable of building optimization models and implementing them with the ability of validating and simulating math optimization model

Working hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9am – 6pm with hybrid work arrangement (3 days work in office and 2 days work from home)
Salary:
- Up to $6,500
Job Requirements:
- Master or Bachelor Degree in Operations Research, Mathematical Optimization, Statistic, Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of similar job experience
- Expertise in at least one of the areas of convex optimization, robust optimization and supply chain management
- Strong coding skills (one or more of Python or R) and experience using one or more commercial optimization solvers
- 2+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on solving optimization problems. Experience in industries such as logistics, manufacturing, finance, or tech is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in leading optimization projects from conception to deployment, including model development, validation, and implementation
